Enzymes are a necessity for life and every cell process in the body. They
are considered a catalyst, meaning that they cause things-chemical reactions-to happen.
For example, when
there are waste products from the building of collagen, an enzyme called collagenase is responsible for breaking down these byproducts. Enzymes are considered proteolytic. They digest keratin specific proteins. Keratin is the main component in the
dead skin cells that form the visible part of the skin we see. In a facial treatment, the
action of the enzyme product dissolves different forms of cellular debris and buildup
leaving the skin soft, clearer and more receptive to any subsequent correction products.
Our enzyme formulations combine bromelain (pineapple), papain (papaya),
and trypsin. Bromelain and papain are cysteine proteases and trysin is a serine protease.
Bromelain is an effective
anti-inflammatory agent; papain is highly effective in removing
the keratin(dead cellular material). Trypsin attacks proteins that contain amino acids.
With these three enzymes working together to attack different parts of the keratin
molecule, they produce very effective results.
Enzyme treatments are part of your complete facial designed based on your
specific skin needs. We may recommend a Citrus Cleansing, Raspberry Rejuvenation, Calming
Chocolate or Brightening Pumpkin and White Tea therapy. |
